Q: Why can't I see the sharp (♯) and flat (♭) symbols?

A: If you don't see the sharps and flats, there are two options for MS Windows users: (1) If you own MS Office, follow the Microsoft instructions for installing the Arial Unicode MS font from the MS Office CD; or (2) download a font installer from here that will give you the same font (it's kinda big, though—around 13MB).

Q: How do I get to a page without those section drop-downs so I can print?

A: There is no need for a separate print page—just print from the chord-chart's page and the interactive controls are automatically hidden by the software. If you want to see what will be printed without using any paper, choose "Print Preview" from the "File" menu.

Q: How do I add a page-break to a chart?

A: The drop-downs that have the values "┃", "║", and "━" can be used to force a page-break (the "║" value) or to force two items to appear next to each other (the "━") item. The symbols are quite easy to remember if you think of the section drop-downs as forming a sideways view of the page, like this:

VS 1 ┃ CHORUS ┃ VS 2 ║ BRIDGE 1 ━ BRIDGE 2

When thought of as being a sideways list, you can see that ┃ are the normal lines that divide the sections, ║ is two dividing lines (with a page break in between), and ━ is a perpendicular line that would divide the sections when they are placed side-by-side.

Q: How can I get rid of the header/footer strings, such as the URL?

A: You can easily configure the headers and footers that are output on the printed page:

Go to the File menu in your web browser and choose Page Setup. If you're using Internet Explorer, you'll see some cryptic characters in the Header and Footer sections. I suggest moving the string from the header into the footer (use cut/paste). Alternately, you can just remove both strings.

For a mozilla-based browser (such as Firefox), the setup is much less cryptic: just click on the "Margins & Header/Footer" tab (in the same File/Page Setup dialog) and use the drop-down values to turn off the header and footer items (or set the footer as desired).

If you'd like more information on the Internet Explorer Page-Setup dialog, there is a good help page about it available.
